Hi, I am Sophia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A couple of years ago I relocated here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in the ultimate plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new habits, and fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, over time, routines came together. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Steady Cloud Harbor
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial travel content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real-life experiences in Canada.
What This Website Represents (And What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site is not:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophia
